| Or
rather, Whirrrr! Yes, this is the two-wheel version of the Hummer H2,
otherwise known as the Hummer bike. Like its four-wheeled big brother,
the Hummer bike is a crossover from the military. Manufacturer Montague
has been making them for the Pentagon since 1997.
Deployed
in the Middle East as well as Afghanistan (Montague won't say if the
Hummer bike has tested the sands of Iraq), the two-wheeler folds up
in a snap, making it a cinch for parachute drops. (It's possible to
mount a gun on the military version!) When Montague wanted to bring
the bike stateside for civilian use, it licensed the Hummer name from
GM rather than start up a brand from scratch. Aren't Hummer lovers the
last ones you'd expect to go for a spin on a bike? Apparently not. Montague
reports that the bikes are selling out. Available at your local Hummer
dealer starting at $50,800 (you get an H2 thrown in ...). Or for $50K
less, you can buy just the bike.
